Halo Infinite's Sensitivity System

Halo Infinite uses a sensitivity scale from 1.0 to 10.0 (with 0.5 increments possible through console). Unlike CS2 and Valorant which use a single yaw value, Halo's sensitivity is tied to its FOV setting (80° default at 16:9 on PC). Changing FOV changes how sensitivity feels even if the slider value stays the same.

Halo Infinite Yaw (at 80° FOV, sens 3.0, 800 DPI): ≈ 0.022 degrees per count (same baseline as CS2) At default settings: CS2 → Halo Infinite: near 1:1 Valorant → Halo: Valorant Sens × 3.18 Apex → Halo: Apex Sens × 3.18 Note: These values are approximate at 80° FOV. Use our converter for precision calculation.

Recommended Sensitivity for Halo Infinite (PC, 2026)

Halo Infinite Recommended Settings (PC): Horizontal Sensitivity: 4.0–6.0 (at 800 DPI) Vertical Sensitivity: same as horizontal ADS Sensitivity Reduction: 0.75–1.0 FOV: 90–100° (competitive standard) Mouse Accel: Off Raw Input: On (ensures Windows accel doesn't interfere)

At 800 DPI, sensitivity 5.0 corresponds to approximately 32–36 cm/360 depending on FOV setting.

Weapon-Class Sensitivity Considerations

Precision Rifles (BR75, Commando, Sniper Rifle)

Halo's precision weapons require accurate burst-fire at medium-to-long range. Lower sensitivity (3.5–5.0 at 800 DPI, ~36–54 cm/360) helps consistency on spaced bursts from BR75 and full headshot alignment with the Sniper Rifle.

Automatic Weapons (Assault Rifle, Bulldog Shotgun)

Automatics are close-range and hip-fire dominant. Slightly higher sensitivity (5.0–7.0) helps quick tracking of flanking enemies. These weapons's wide spread makes precision less critical.

Power Weapons (Rocket Launcher, Skewer, Energy Sword)

Power weapons are used in burst opportunistic moments. Sensitivity matters less than positioning — but higher sensitivity helps if the Sword requires closing distance rapidly with a lunge timing.

Why Halo Feels Different Despite Correct Sensitivity

  • Strafe speed: Halo Infinite Spartans strafe faster than CS2/Valorant operators. Tracking a strafing enemy requires slightly faster mouse movement relative to their speed
  • No CS2-style first-bullet penalty: In Halo, automatics fire accurately while moving (hip fire). This encourages a more mobile play style that suits slightly higher sensitivity
  • Jump and melee range: Combat at close range often involves jumping and melee opportunities — quick 90°–180° turns are more common than in tactical FPS games
  • Shield + Health bar: Higher TTK than Valorant — you have more time to track before an enemy dies, making tracking smoother across a longer window

Convert your main FPS sensitivity to Halo Infinite with our DCPROSENS converter. Allow 10–15 hours of Halo play before evaluating the converted settings — Halo's movement rhythm is distinct enough to require an adaptation period.
