Understanding eDPI: The Universal Aiming Standard
eDPI stands for Effective Dots Per Inch. It is the single most important number for understanding how fast your cursor moves in-game.
The Simple Formula
eDPI = DPI x In-Game Sensitivity
400 DPI at 2.5 sens = 1000 eDPI. 800 DPI at 1.25 sens = 1000 eDPI. They feel identical in-game.
What eDPI Should You Use?
- 200–400 eDPI (Valorant): Very low. Common among pros who value micro-adjustments.
- 400–800 eDPI (Valorant): The sweet spot for most competitive players.
- 1000+ eDPI (CS2): Considered high; most CS2 pros use 400–1000.
Pro Player eDPI Examples
- TenZ (Valorant): 800 DPI × 0.3 = 240 eDPI
- s1mple (CS2): 400 DPI × 3.09 = 1236 eDPI
- NiKo (CS2): 400 DPI × 1.4 = 560 eDPI
